MORALS AND ETHICS

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on a study of biblical ethics and the role the local church plays in the community. Special attention will be given to major social problems such as sanctity of life and other issues. This course will also explore the relevant and current sociopolitical issues and ethical problems so that students can dialogue with those who are outside of a biblically centered faith with confidence and effectiveness.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

THIS COURSE WILL INTRODUCE YOU TO CONCEPTS OF:

  • Applying the knowledge of biblical doctrine to refute errors and to utilize practical techniques to dialogue with people on moral and ethical issues

  • Think, problem solve, and make decisions with regard to ethical dilemmas faced in church ministry

  • Defending a biblically consistent position on primary moral issues

YOU WILL GAIN SPECIFIC UNDERSTANDING AND PERSONAL APPLICATION FOR:

  • Developing a clearer understanding of and commitment to biblical ethics

  • Distinguish between moral positions that are consistent with biblical parameters and those that are not
